Lily Allen is well and truly back in Sir Elton John's good graces after a 2008 awards show spat - he has branded the newlywed Smile singer "Britain's best lyricist".
The Your Song hitmaker famously fell out with the singer after they both appeared at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards in 2008 and Allen told him to "f**k off" after he mocked her for being drunk.
They made up the following year (09), and Allen has since signed to Sir Elton's new management company Rocket Music Entertainment Group.
He is now heaping praise on the young songwriter for her work developing a musical based on Bridget Jones's Diary.
He tells Music Week, "I think this week is the final kind of workshop to that (musical) before they go into rehearsals.
"That's an incredibly exciting thing for her, an amazing step for an artist to write a full musical, especially one so young, but I think Lily is Britain's best lyricist and she's taken this mantle on which is not easy when you're young."
