Buddy Holly superfans Sir Paul McCartney and Cee Lo Green are among the all-stars who have recorded covers of the rock 'n' roll legend's classics for a new tribute album.
The duo will join My Morning Jacket, Patti Smith and Lou Reed, among others, on Rave On Buddy Holly, which will be released in June (11).
Highlights include Florence and the MAChine's rendition of Not Fade Away, Reed's cover of Peggy Sue and MCCartney's take on It's So Easy.
The album will hit stores and the Internet three months before what would have been Holly's 75th birthday. Holly died in a plane crash in February, 1959. The accident also claimed the lives of Richie Valens and The Big Bopper.
