James Bond - Skyfall Back Atop U.s. Box Office Chart
James Bond has reclaimed the U.S. box office title thanks to Skyfall banking another $10.8 million (£6.75 million) in a tight race for the top spot.
The latest blockbuster in the superspy franchise, starring Daniel Craig as 007, is continuing to charm audiences a month after its North American release, and managed to see off competition from animated holiday film Rise of the Guardians, which took second place with $10.4 million (£6.5 million).
Former number one The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 slipped to three with takings of $8.9 million (£5.6 million).
Steven Spielberg's Lincoln and director Ang Lee's Life of Pi land at fourth and fifth place, respectively, while Gerard Butler and Jessica Biel's romantic comedy Playing For Keeps failed to make the top five, falling short at six with a disappointing $6.1 million (£3.8 million).
