Rocker Slash was forced to give up his huge collection of snakes when his wife PERLA became pregnant with their first child.
The former Guns N' Roses guitarist amassed a vast menagerie of the reptiles that dominated his California home.
But he concedes it wasn't the safest environment to raise a child.
He tells Blender magazine, "I got rid of all my snakes when Perla was in her last trimester - it's just trouble waiting to happen, with a little boy. But when I was a bachelor, the whole house was just snake cages. All my snakes were 10 to 20 feet long, and I had about 80 of them."
Slash and Perla Ferrer have two sons, London, six and Cash, four.
