The ashes of Australian country music star Smoky Dawson are to be scattered in a beauty spot overlooking the city where he played some of his favourite gigs.
The singer passed away in 2008 at the age of 94 and his family is now planning to lay him to rest in his beloved Tamworth, New South Wales, long considered the home of Australian country music.
Dawson's ashes will be scattered at the Oxley Lookout point, overlooking the city, along with those of his wife, Dot, who died two years after her husband, according to Australian website Abc.net.au.
A plaque will be placed at the Oxley Lookout in recognition of Dawson's contribution to Australia's country music industry.
