Snoop Dogg - Snoop Dogg Cashes In As A Lakers Fan
Rap superstar Snoop Dogg rang in 2011 $20,000 (£13,330) richer after Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) owner DANA WHITE settled an eight-month-old gambling debt.
The sports-loving pals agreed to place the big money wager on the National Basketball Association (NBA) June 2010 title match between Snoop's beloved Los Angeles Lakers and Massachusetts' Boston Celtics, who were backed by White.
The Lakers went on to beat the Celtics to claim their second straight title, leaving White in debt to the hip-hop star.
But it took the UFC boss several months to pay up - and he only produced the cash during a chance meeting with Snoop in Las Vegas on 30 December (10).
In a video interview with TMZ.com, White explains, "I owed Snoop $20,000. I bet Lakers against the Celtics, and I lost. I'm here to bow down and pay Snoop Dogg his money."
He is then captured telling Snoop, "You're not dogging (pestering) me any more, man. I owe you 20Gs ($20,000) and here it is."
The rapper replies, "Paid in full? You're a man of your word. I'm glad we got this together before 2011."
