Rapper Snoop Dogg has documented his first foray into reggae in a new film.
The hip-hop star is preparing to launch Reincarnated, his first reggae project, under the name Snoop Lion and his journey into the genre has been captured on film for a new documentary.
The film, also called Reincarnated, includes footage of his studio sessions in Jamaica and will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada in September (12).
Snoop explains, "There comes a point where you say I done it all, or there isn't much more to do. This was like a rebirth for me. With no disrespect to other rappers, but they can't f**k with me in rap... I've won every accolade you can get in rap, they call me 'Uncle Snoop' in rap. When you're an uncle, it's time to find something new... I want to feel like a kid again.
"I have always said I was Bob Marley reincarnated. I feel I have always been a Rastafarian. I just didn't have my third eye open, but it's wide open right now."
