Solange Knowles says living in New York has given her the opportunity to showcase her fashion choices.

The musician - younger sister of Beyonce Knowles - recently moved to the Big Apple from Los Angeles and is loving how she can add more elements to her look because she's got a lot more to think about.

She said: ''It's given me more of an opportunity to actually showcase my look. Practicality has become a much stronger focus in terms of walking, getting in and out of cabs, and biking - those are things I never had to think about in LA. You'd just hop in your car, and wouldn't care about what you were wearing and keeping warm, or wearing layers. I've been loving adding those elements to my wardrobe.''

Solange is known for pulling off her clashing prints but she says she has no set rules when it comes to wearing them.

She told Marie Claire magazine: ''I don't have a formula. I think I've been going it for so long now that I have a good sense about what works and what doesn't. One tip is to try and be aware of fabrics. If I'm wearing silk trousers, I try to keep the top silk. If you're mixing prints, having a uniform texture helps.''
