Sony Pictures are planning a 'Jumanji' reboot.

Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures - which is owned by Sony - revealed the production company are going to ''try'' and reboot the 1995 fantasy adventure movie, which stars Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst and Bonnie Hunt.

He said: ''We're going to try and reimagine 'Jumanji' and update it for the present.''

The original movie was directed by 'Captain America: The First Avenger' helmer Joe Johnston and tells the story of two kids who discover a magic board game and release a man, Alan Parrish - played by Robin - who has been trapped in there for decades.

As well as saving Alan, the kids accidentally unleash a number of jungle hazards, such as wild animals, into reality with each move they make, and they soon realise the dangers can only be stopped by finishing The Game.

Doug revealed Sony are also planning to create a sequel to 'Men In Black 3' as the company were ''very pleased'' with the financial performance of the latest movie, which saw Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones reprise their roles as Agent J and Agent K respectively earlier this year.

He added to the Hollywood Reporter: ''We're very pleased with the financial performance of 'Men in Black 3', and we believe it is an ongoing franchise. We're going to do [another one], but we don't have clarity yet on how it should be done.''

Doug also confirmed a sequel to comedy movie '21 Jump Street' - which saw Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill play a pair of underachieving police officers who go back to school and try to bring down a drug ring while posing as undercover students - will start filming this autumn.
