Spanish singer Isabel Pantoja has been sentenced to two years behind bars for laundering money on behalf of her politician ex-boyfriend.
The flamboyant 56-year-old star was also handed a $2.1 million (£1.3 million) fine during a hearing at a court in Malaga, Spain, on Tuesday (16Apr13) after she was found guilty of laundering money for Julian Munoz, her former partner and one-time mayor of Marbella.
However, Pantoja is likely to avoid a stint in prison because Spanish officials generally suspend sentences of two years or less for first-time offenders, according to the Associated Press.
Munoz has been jailed for seven years for his part in a corrupt scheme which provided building permits in Marbella in exchange for bribes.
