Rick Springfield is shifting from songwriting to screenwriting - the pop veteran is developing ideas for a new movie.
The singer/actor catapulted to fame in 1981 with chart-topping hit Jessie's Girl and a role on America's daytime drama General Hospital - and he's continued to pursue acting and music simultaneously over the decades.
Now Springsteen is preparing to step behind the camera and start writing his his own film - after the release of his next album.
He says, "I want to continue writing. I want to continue fiction and I have some screenplay ideas, which I've always done (written) anyway through my life. I always consider myself a prose writer first before songs took over... but the next thing is (screen)writing for sure."
