The suburban home where Ringo Starr was born was boarded up on Tuesday (26Oct10) in a bid to stop Beatles fans stealing pieces of the property.
The house on Madryn Street in Liverpool, England has been regularly raided by souvenir-hunters, who have been taking bricks from around the windows since officials announced plans to demolish the property.
Devotees launched the Save Madryn Street Society in a bid to keep the property intact - as it is the only address in the city connected to a member of the Fab Four which does not have protected status.
Following a spate of vandalism reports, city officials have now installed metal shutters to preserve the building.
It is not yet known whether plans to demolish Starr's former home will go ahead.
