Fans, family and friends of Australian singer Mandawuy Yunupingu can pay their respects to the star at a state funeral later this month (Jun13).

The indigenous star, lead singer of the Yothu Yindi band, died at the age of 56 on 2 June (13) after a longrunning battle with kidney disease.

Officials in Australia's Northern Territory have now announced a state funeral will be held for the beloved singer at the site of the annual Garma Festival in Arnhem Land on 30 June (13).

The funeral will be open to anyone, but organisers recommend schools or other groups wishing to attend in an official capacity should contact the Northern Territory Protocol Office ahead of the event.
