Sting To Pay Chef Compensationby Contributor | 17 July 2007
Pop star Sting and his wife Trudie Styler have been ordered to pay their former chef compensation.
The couple must pay Jane Martin £24,944 after losing a sexual discrimination case at an employment tribunal in Southampton.
Lake House Estate, which was the estate named in the case, has already won the right to appeal against the ruling.
Ms Martin won her case of unfair dismissal and sexual discrimination at an earlier hearing and had worked for the couple for eight years.
The chef claimed she had been sacked by Ms Styler after she became pregnant.
During her time working for the estate the chef cooked for a number of stars, including Madonna.
Sting is currently on tour with his reformed band the Police, who got back together to tour their greatest hits album.
