Barbra Streisand suffered crippling stagefright for 27 years after forgetting the words to a song during a performance in New York's Central Park.
The diva stepped away from the stage shortly after the incident and has only recently rediscovered her confidence again.
And it was one maddening moment that kept her out of the spotlight.
She explains, "In front of 135,000 in Central Park - my free concert in Cental Park - I forgot the words and it sort of triggered this feeling that I would forget the words... I didn't perform again until they discovered teleprompters."
And that became a problem during a 1986 concert: "I was singing America The Beautiful (and) I didn't count on (the fact) the people would stand up in front of the teleprompter."
