This is the weekend that the movies go up against the Super Bowl. And the Super Bowl will win. To be sure, there's always at least one studio that adopts a counter-programming strategy for the weekend. This year that studio is Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment, which is offering Warm Bodies about a girl who falls in love with a zombie. It's expected to earn $15-17 million. Then there's Bullet to the Head, an action movie starring Sylvester Stallone, a movie that Warner Bros. apparently decided was so unappealing and, well, expendable, that it tossed it out on Super Bowl weekend. It's expected to take in around $6-8 million. Finally, there's Lionsgate's Stand Up Guys, which, despite a cast headed by Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin, has received mostly negative reviewss. The movie is screening in only 659 theaters and box office pundits say they'll be surprised if it earns more than $2 million.
