SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE was the big winner at Britain's prestigious Laurence Olivier Awards last night (18FEB07), taking home five trophies including Best Actor and Actress In A Musical for DANIEL EVANS and JENNA RUSSELL respectively. The revival of Stephen Sondheim's musical also won Outstanding Musical Production, Best Lighting Design and Best Set Design at the London ceremony. Elsewhere, Rufus Sewell collected Best Actor In A Play for ROCK 'N' ROLL, while TAMSIN GREIG won Best Actress In A Play for MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. The London production of Monty Python musical SPAMALOT failed to take home any awards, despite receiving seven nominations.
