Rockers Motley Crue will kick start this year's (11) Sunset Strip Music Festival by becoming the butt of jokes and funny anecdotes at Hollywood's House of Blues.
Famous fans like comedian Dane Cook and New York Dolls frontman David Johansen will join Neil Strauss, who co-wrote the band's bestselling biography The Dirt, for a comedy roast on Thursday night (18Aug11).
Drummer Tommy Lee says, "I have no idea what they will say, but it's bound to be sometimes serious, sometimes funny and also probably shocking."
Motley Crue will also close this year's festival on Saturday (20Aug11), when they'll receive the event's annual Elmer Valentine Award for their services to the venues on the famous Strip.
Other acts on the three-day bill include Uriah Heep, Bush, Public Enemy and Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek of The Doors.
