Superman Movie Opens Big In Southeast Asia

The new Superman movie had a super start at the box office in Southeast Asia, landing the biggest opening day ever in the Philippines and the best start for a Warner Bros. movie in Taiwan.
Director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel racked up $1.7 million (£1.1 million) in 24-hour sales in cinemas in the Philippines and a further $795,000 (£513,000) in Taiwan.
The blockbuster opens in America on Thursday night (13May13) and around the world on Friday (14May13).
It is expected to top the box office in the U.S. this weekend (15-16Jun13) with an estimated $80 million (£52 million) three-day take.
