Talent Shows Dominate Wednesday Ratings
Summer talent shows America's Got Talent on NBC and So You Think You Can Dance on Fox aired two-hour editions Wednesday night, with the two shows going head-to-head during the 9 00 p.m. hour. AGT was the clear winner, averaging 12.28 million viewers, while SYTYCD averaged 7.13 million. CBS and ABC aired mostly reruns, with CBS averaging 5.44 million viewers for the night and ABC 4.11 million. Meanwhile, Nielsen said Wednesday that final ratings figures for the last episode of THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW drew 16.4 million viewers, Winfrey's biggest audience since a 1993 episode, "Why I Love Older Women," which reached 17.3 million (when she was fronting a raunchier talk show).
