Taylor Swift - Taylor Swift On Working On The Lorax With Zac Efron
Taylor Swift has spoken to MTV News about her work on the animated feature movie Dr. Seuss' the Lorax. Swift is no stranger to the recording studio but told Mtv that recording a voice for someone else's script is an entirely different prospect to singing lyrics that she has written herself, often from personal experience: "It's a completely different space that you go to in your head. It's very different from when you're singing songs that you wrote. .With this, you're sitting there in a booth by yourself having conversations with no one."
Swift voices the character of Audrey, who is the object of Ted's affections (Ted being played by Zac Efron). The movie follows Ted as he attempts to save endangered trees, in the hope of winning Audrey's heart. Swift told Mtv how much she connected with her character, saying "She's heavenly. She's such a day dreamer, and she cares so much about the past.To some degree, you have to have a priority based on the past and the future as well as the present." Taylor's no stranger to trees, either, having grown up on a Christmas tree farm.
In a recent appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show, Taylor Swift and her co-star Zac Efron put an end to rumors that they had found love on during the making of the movie and had started dating. Taylor explained to the viewers that they had not really had a chance to connect during the making of the movie: "You hear people get together when they're shooting movies, co-stars. But not like animated co-stars. You know what I'm saying. Like, oh my god, as we were recording out voiceovers on separate coasts we really connected."
