Tennessee songwriter DANNY TATE has been declared fully capable of managing his own affairs after a two-and-a-half-year battle over his legal rights with his brother.
The musician, 54, was declared disabled during a court hearing in 2007, which he did not attend.
His brother claimed Tate was a serious drug addict who was incapable of making his own decisions regarding his medical, legal and financial needs.
Tate was subjected to a series of medical tests to prove he was of sound mind and, during a court hearing on Monday (24May10), Nashville's Judge Randy Kennedy agreed, allowing him to regain complete control of his life.
