Terry Gilliam's Movie Money Worry

Terry Gilliam believes Hollywood is plagued by financial problems.

The director has been forced to put 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote' on hold for the second time due to a "financial hiccup" but thinks his situation is no different to many other people's in the movie industry.

He said: "We moved forward and then we stepped back a bit. Originally, I thought we were going to be in pre-production right now, but there's been a little hiccup.

"The sad thing is you get used to this. It's a kind of numbing experience, and to be numb is not the best thing to be creative. You gear yourself up for a certain level of work, and then suddenly the energy has nowhere to go.

"At the moment out there, if you're not spending a couple hundred million dollars in Hollywood, it's pretty rough. It's hard to predict anything. Everyone's having these problems. I'm not different from anybody else."

Despite the problems, Terry insists the project will go ahead eventually.

He added to MTV Movies: "Robert Duvall is still Quixote and Ewan McGregor is still involved - all that stuff is still happening."

The film was originally meant to begin shooting over a decade ago with Johnny Depp in the lead role, but was shelved following a string of problems.
