The Bachelor host Chris Harrison is set to become single himself after revealing he is to divorce from his wife of 18-years. A spokeswoman for the 40-year-old television personality confirmed the news on Thursday (May 3, 2012), reports the Associated Press.
Harrison has hosted the ABC show - in which a 'Bachelor' looks for love - and its various spin offs since its debut in 2002. A joint statement from Harrison and his wife Gwen read, "Though we have made this incredibly difficult decision to separate, our love and mutual respect remain, and we look forward to sharing in the lives of our wonderful children". The couple live just outside Hollywood with their kids Joshua, 9, and Taylor, 7. Back in 2010, Chris' wife told People magazine that the Bachelor star coaches both kids' local soccer teams and that he is "an amazing father", adding, "He's very loving and involved"
The presenter will host the new season of 'The Bachelorette', which premieres on May 14, 2012, on Abc. The most recent 'Bachelor' was won by Courtney Robertson, who managed to win the heart of Ben Flajnik despite playing the villain role throughout most of the series.
