A contract documenting The Beatles' backstage requests on their 1965 U.S. tour has sold at auction for $23,000 (£14,375) - more than three times its expected price.
The rider document was made public last week (end18Sep11) and revealed the musicians' support for the civil rights movement, with one clause suggesting the band would not play to segregated audiences.
The list showed demands for an ice cooler, a portable TV, and 150 uniformed police as protection.
The contract was expected to sell for up to $5,000 (£3,120) when it went under the hammer on Tuesday (20Sep11), but an unnamed bidder bought it for $23,000 (£14,375).
