The Expendables 2 has held onto the top spot at the U.S. box office after raking in $13.5 million (£8.4 million) over the weekend (25-26Aug12).
The action movie, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, held The Bourne Legacy in second place with takings of $9.3 million (£5.8 million), and coming in third was animated family film ParaNorman, which had earnings of $8.5 million (£5.3 million).
Political comedy The Campaign ($7.4 million/£4.6 million) remained at four and The Dark Knight Rises ($7.2 million/£4.5 million) came in a close fifth.
