The Magic Loungeabout has revealed the first wave of acts that will appear at the festival. Friday's headliner will be the legendary disco band Chic, featuring Nile Rodgers, who became one of the most successful producers in the 1980's. Rodgers went on to produce Madonna's Like A Virgin album; David Bowie's 1983 album Lets Dance and Duran Duran's The Wild Boys, among others.

The Magic Loungeabout has also confirmed Lucy Rose. She contributed backing vocals for two of Bombay Bicycle Club's albums: Flaws and A Different Kind of Fix. She has since released three singles: Middle of the Bed; Red Face and Scar and has been hailed by many critics as one to watch in 2012.

Benjamin Francis Leftwich is another of the acts announced by the festival. His debut album, Las Smoke before the Snowstorm, was released in July 2011 and peaked at number 35 in the UK Album Charts. The LP has spawned two singles, Box of Stones (June 2011) and Atlas Hands (September 2011), with a third single, Pictures, released in February 2012.

The Magic Loungeabout was established in 2008, where it was held at Newburgh Priory in North Yorkshire. In the past acts such as Gary Numan; The Egg; The Human League and New Young Pony Club have performed at the festival, which moved to Broughton Hall, near Skipton, in 2011. The Magic Loungeabout are also known for featuring up and coming artists who have since gone on to achieve success, such as Ed Sheeran and Eliza Doolittle. The Magic Loungeabout will be held from Friday 27th - Sunday 29th July 2012.
