The Replacements - The Replacements Returning To Stage After 22 Years
Veteran punk rockers The Replacements are set to make their live comeback this summer (13) after 22 years away from the stage.
Original members Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson reunited last October (12) to record a charity Ep, benefiting former guitarist Slim Dunlap as he recovers from a stroke, and now they are preparing to perform in public again for the first time since 1991 after signing up for Riot Fest.
Frontman Westerberg and bassist Stinson will return to the spotlight when the touring event touches down in Toronto, Canada at the end of August (13), while they will also play dates in Chicago, Illinois and Denver, Colorado in September (13), with further Riot Fest gigs to be announced.
The reunited The Replacements does not include drummer Chris Mars, who opted out of taking part in last year's get-together.
Other performers hitting the stage for the various Riot Fest gigs include Motorhead, Blondie, Public Enemy, Iggy and The Stooges and Dinosaur Jr.
