THE White Stripes may never tour again, according to Jack White.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the guitarist and singer said that the decision lies with drummer Meg White whose acute anxiety led to the band's 2007 tour being cancelled.

He also joked that THE Beatles had quit touring but continued to be successful and added that it would not matter to him if the band never toured again.

"There are so many different aspects of being creative that it doesn't matter if one component is changed. It's been changing all the time since the band started," he continued.

He also stated that if touring is detrimental to someone then they just have to think of a new way to attack it and that is what Meg is doing.

Recently THE WHITE STRIPES collaborated with their LA neighbour Beck.

The resulting three songs, HONEY WE CAN'T AFFORD TO LOOK THIS CHEAP, CASH GRAB COMPLICATIONS ON THE MATTER and IT'S MY FAULT FOR BEING FAMOUS, will all be used as B-sides on the three vinyl versions of the group's latest single CONQUEST.

"We had some songs that were kind of lingering around," White told the Los Angles Times.

"Meg and I had never really played them, we just kind of learned them in Beck's living room. His studio wasn't ready to go, so he just set it up in his living room."

The single will be released on three different colours of vinyl, red, black and white, on December 18th in the US.

In the UK it will be released on December 31st.

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that JACK WHITE could be set to collaborate with Bob Dylan.
