The Who stars Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend have taken their successful Teenage Cancer Trust initiative across the Atlantic by launching the scheme in the U.S.
The rockers have been raising money for teenage cancer patients in Britain for many years, and they have now extended their work to America by launching the Daltrey/Townshend Teen And Young Adult Cancer Program at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in California.
The scheme will raise money to fund a new hospital unit designed to help young patients between the ages of 15 and 25 during long stays and gruelling treatments.
The stars have also signed a guitar which will be put on display in the unit when it is completed.
