Some 13.14 million viewers tuned in Monday night for the opening episode of The Dome, the Stephen King/Steven Spielberg 13-week miniseries. By contrast, Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Hockey championship on NBC attracted 8.31 million viewers, nearly twice the number that tuned in for the comparable contest a year ago, according to overnight figures. Meanwhile, Nielsen released figures indicating that 12.98 million people watched Nik Wallenda's live walk across the Grand Canyon on Sunday, about the same number who watched his last daredevil special (10.10 million) when he walked above Niagara Falls. Wallenda has said that his next wire walk will take place high above Manhattan, where he will walk on a Skywire strung between two skyscrapers.
