The only thing that was incredible about The Incredible Burt Wonderstone was how poorly it did on its opening weekend. The movie, which stars Steve Carell and Jim Carrey, opened with just $41.3 million from 3,160 theaters. Although researchers were no doubt checking their data bases to see whether any other film starring either Carell or Carrey ever debuted with a lower figure, but that seemed unlikely. The film debuted in third place, well behind the No. 1 film, Oz The Great and Powerful, which took in an additional $41.3 million in its second weekend -- that's a 48 percent drop from last weekend -- for a 10-day total of $144.1 million. In second place The Call exceeded expectations as it raked in $17.1 million, and its B+ CinemaScore seemed to assure that it will wind up with around $50 million, a spectacular figure given the film's $15-million budget. Fourth place went to Warner's Jack the Giant Slayer, which earned $6.3 million to bring its gross to $54 million, a fraction of the film's original production cost -- $195 million.
