The Horrors, Klaxons and Ladyhawke all star on Tim Burgess' "explosive" new solo album.

The Charlatans frontman said it's taken him so long to follow up his first solo effort, 2003s 'I Believe', because he wanted an all-star cast for his second solo effort.

He told website Spinnermusic.co.uk: "I've been working with Josh, the guitarist from The Horrors, and Stefan, the drummer from the Klaxons and right now we can only do stuff when our other bands aren't doing things.

"But when we do get together, it's really explosive and it'll be well worth waiting for. I've also got Ladyhawke singing on it."

He added that he is also working on a more international sound for the album, and very different fr0om his first effort.

He added: "Musically, it's going to sound like all of our bands put together. It'll definitely be different from my first solo album because I made that with session musicians from Los Angeles and this is being made with people from New Zealand and London. It'll have a European flavour with a New Zealand twist."

The as-yet-untitled album is scheduled for release next year.
