Bruce Springsteen has recruited Rage Against The Machine star Tom Morello as Steven Van Zandt's stand-in on his upcoming Australian tour.

Van Zandt has been forced to sit out the dates Down Under as he completes filming for his hit Tv show Lilyhammer.

The E Street Band guitarist will rejoin The Boss' Wrecking Ball tour at the end of April (13) in Oslo, Norway.

Morello is no stranger to Springsteen's work - he guested on the Wrecking Ball album and has joined the E Street Band on many occasions, most recently at the South by Southwest festival in Texas last year (12).

Morello will also perform at the pre-Grammys MusiCares benefit, which will this year (13) honour Springsteen.
