The main prizes at the 66th annual Tony Awards will be contested by the new musical 'Once' - a love story set in Ireland - and the play 'Nice Work If You Can Get It', starring Matthew Broderick. The $70 million 'Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark' production received just two minor nominations after a disastrous year on Broadway.

'Once' is based on the 2006 movie of the same name, featuring Glen Hansard of Irish folk rock band The Frames. Shot for a modest $160,000, the film scored critical acclaim and numerous awards. The stage adaptation landed the most nominations for the Tony's (11), including the prestigious Best Musical prize. Others nominees announced on Tuesday morning (May 1, 2012) by KRISTIN CHENOWORTH and Jim Parsons included Philip Seymour Hoffman and Cynthia Nixon. Behind 'Once' with 10 nods each were 'Porgy and Best' and 'Nice Work If You Can Get It', while Arthur Miller's 'Death of a Salesman' also received nods. Overlooked were stars such as Ricky Martin in the Evita revival and James Earl Jones' co-stars in 'The Best Man'. The new British comedy 'One Man, Two Guvnors', starring James Corden, landed seven nominations including Best Actor for the 'Gavin & Stacey' star.

A special award will be heading to Hugh Jackman for his sold-out one man show this season.
