Rocker Tony Iommi has thanked fans for their support after announcing he has cancer, and insists the disease won't stop him recording new tracks with Black Sabbath.
The reformed band revealed the guitarist had been diagnosed with lymphoma earlier this month (Jan12).
He is in talks with doctors about his treatment, and the rock icons have decided to move recording for the next album from the U.S. to the U.K. so Iommi can still contribute during his health battle.
And the star has moved to reassure fans his recovery won't hamper work on any new material.
In a statement on his official website, he writes, "I just want to say how overwhelmed I am with all your messages of support, thank you so much. Well it's not what I wanted for Christmas, that's for sure, but now I can't wait for the test results to come in and get going with the treatment.
"It's really good that the guys are coming over so that we can continue working on the album as things are going great in the studio. Not much else to say at this time, so thanks again."
