A number of high-profile musicians have paid tribute to U.S. punk star Tony Sly following his death on Wednesday night (01Aug12).
The singer/guitarist, who performed a solo live show on Sunday (29Jul12), passed away at the age of 41 and tributes have poured in for the No Use For A Name musician with fellow stars offering their condolences.
A post on the Twitter.com page of American punk band The Offspring reads, "So sad to hear of Tony Sly's passing. One of the nicest guys ever. Our thoughts are with his family & friends. He'll be greatly missed."
Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden writes, "Rest in peace Tony Sly. My deepest sympathy to family, friends and fans of Tony and No Use. Very sad news."
Simple Plan singer Pierre Bouvier also praised the musician after hearing the sad news of his death, writing, "Can't believe to hear Tony Sly passed away. Another one gone too soon. So sad. Rip Tony Sly. You will be missed."
A message posted on punk band Less Than Jake's Twitter.com page reads, "A sad day for all. Our thoughts are with Tony Sly's family and the rest of the No Use For A Name family today."
Sly's cause of death remained undisclosed as WENN went to press.
