Britney Spears has fallen victim to Internet hackers again - sick pranksters broke into her Twitter.com account on Saturday (27Jun09) and told fans the star had died.
The Toxic singer's official page was targeted by online pranksters who posted a message telling her two million followers she had passed away.
Representatives for Spears immediately contacted the social networking site's executives, who shut down part of the service as they tried to discover the "vulnerability" that led to the system being hacked.
The message was quickly removed, with Spears' team sending out a statement to set fans straight.
The post reads, "Britney’s Twitter was just hacked. The last message is obviously not true. She is fine and dandy spending a quiet day at home relaxing."
It is the second time Spears' Twitter page had been attacked by pranksters - hackers posted a series of adult-only messages on her page in January (09).
