Veteran TV producer and film distributor SANDY FRANK has been cleared of domestic violence charges after his wife refused to help police, according to U.S. reports.
Frank, who is credited with distributing beloved TV programmes Lassie and You Asked For It, was arrested with his wife Brenda at their Manhattan apartment after a dispute turned violent in August (10).
They were each charged with assault and weapons possession amid allegations they threw glassware at each other during the incident.
According to the New York Daily News, the case against the 81-year-old producer was dismissed on Friday (17Sep10).
Charges against his wife are also expected to be dropped when she appears in court on Thursday (23Sep10).
The couple married in January (10) but are reportedly no longer living together.
