Usher's step son Kyle Glover has been left brain-dead following a jet-ski accident over the weekend. The 11-year-old, who is the son of the singer's ex-wife Tameka Foster, has not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted to hospital two days ago, reports TMZ.com.
Kyle and a friend were reportedly floating in inner tubes while being pulled by a boat on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, when they were hit by a man on a jet-ski. They were both airlifted to hospital, though Kyle was unresponsive. His friend - a 15-year-old girl - was treated for a cut on the head and a broken arm. Both Usher and his ex-wife - who married in 2007 but divorced two years later - were present at the hospital. Celebrity friends of the 'Oh My Gosh' singer have begun tweeting their support, with Toni Braxton writing, "My heart and prayers go out to Tameka Raymond [and] Usher Raymond IV during this extremely difficult time".
The Department of Natural Resource in Atlanta is currently investigating the accident, with plans to recreate what happened on the lake using special computer programmes to work out how fast the boat and jet-ski were travelling at the time of the collision. Usher's most recent album 'Looking 4 Myself' debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 128,000 copies in its first week of sales.
