Former Bond girl Valerie Leon was stranded in New York as superstorm Sandy hit last week (begs29Oct12) - just two months after she was caught up in the Spanish wildfires.

The British actress, who appeared in The Spy Who Loved Me and Never Say Never Again, was unable to fly out of the Big Apple after her flight was cancelled due to the bad weather - and Leon admits she began to worry when she saw a crane buckle in the high winds.

She tells U.K. newspaper the Daily Mail, "My flight was cancelled and I was stranded. I was on the 24th floor of an apartment in Manhattan and we heard this terrible noise.

"A huge crane on the roof of the building opposite had been ripped in half and was hanging over the edge of the building. People living nearby had to be evacuated."

The drama was the latest disaster Leon found herself involved in - she was in Spain when forest fires swept the country in August (12).

She adds, "It does seem unfair to have been caught up in those fires and then the hurricane. I hope there's nothing else on the horizon."
