Vanessa Lachey is hoping her and husband Nick's first child together is a baby boy.
Vanessa Lachey is hoping for a baby boy.
The TV host is due to give birth to her first child with husband Nick in September, and while they don't yet know the sex, she is hoping for a boy.
She told Wonderwall.MSN.com: ''It's going great, knock on wood! I'm feeling awesome and no morning sickness, no crazy cravings.
''I've always envisioned a little boy first. Maybe because when I fell in love with Nick - the man of my dreams and the father of my children - I could easily imagine falling in love with the mini-him; that's how I see it.''
Vanessa, 31, explained she had tweeted her thoughts, but some people had misunderstood her.
She added: ''There was a lot of backlash, with people saying, 'How dare you! How dare you!' Don't get this confused: I want a healthy child, absolutely, first and foremost, God willing. But of course every mother has a vision.''
Vanessa - who married Nick in July 2011 - won't be afraid to join in when it comes to male activities either, should they have a boy.
She added: ''I want to be able to throw a baseball with my son and want to be able to just wrestle with him in the yard, and I want to do all that fun stuff.''
However, Vanessa is also keen for them to have a girl in the future.
She said: ''I can't wait, when we keep having more children, to sprinkle boys and girls throughout the family. And if I have a little girl, she's going to be Nick's angel, I'm sure!''
