Singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright has revived his family Christmas concerts, A Not So Silent Night, after a two-year hiatus.
The festive show was shelved when his mother, folk icon Kate MCGarrigle, fell ill and died last year (10), but the concerts which traditionally featured Wainwright, his sister Martha, dad Loudon, mum, and aunt Anna MCGarrigle, will be back for 2011.
Wainwright tells RollingStone.com, "We did it for several years with my mother, Kate MCGarrigle, and that was all fine and dandy, and then, unfortunately she passed away and we needed to take a two year hiatus just to get the spirit back. We're a little cheerier now, and so we're bringing them back."
The two gigs will take place in Montreal, Canada on 11 December (11) and at the Town Hall in Manhattan, New York on 15 December (11).
