Funk stars War are fuming after they were left off the latest list of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees - and they're "shocked" the Beastie Boys have made the Class of 2012.
Founding member Howard E. Scott has waged war on the hip-hop trio after they were invited to join the famed Cleveland, Ohio museum in April next year (12).
Scott is adamant his band should receive the honour before the Beastie Boys, who sampled the War hit Low Rider on their track Slow Ride, off their 1986 debut album Licensed to Ill.
Scott tells Tmz.com, "We were cranking out gold records when they were still in diapers. How could the Beastie Boys get in before us when they sampled War's music on their first album? I'll eat their platinum records! (The snub) felt like I was kicked in the back of my britches."
