Harvey Weinstein is so furious with the decision by the MPAA's appeals board to uphold the R rating for The Weinstein Co.'s documentary Bully that he's threatening not to deal with the MPAA "for the foreseeable future." The MPAA released a statement quoting Joan Graves, who heads the organization's ratings group, as acknowledging that " Bully can serve as a vehicle for ... important discussions." However, it added, the MPAA also has the responsibility to "represent the strong feedback from parents throughout the country who want to be informed about content in movies, including language." Weinstein has not indicated whether he will take the matter over the heads of the MPAA and directly to theater owners, asking them to post the R rating for informational purposes only but not prevent teenagers from seeing it.
