Weisz Lands Streetcar Role
Rachel Weisz has landed one of the most coveted roles in theatre - playing BLANCHE DuBOIS in Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire.
The British actress will begin rehearsals for the play in June (09) and take to the stage at London's Donmar Warehouse in late July (09).
Weisz, who studied the playwright's work during her time at Cambridge University, previously starred in another of Williams' classics in 1999 - taking the lead role in Suddenly Last Summer at the same theatre.
Weisz has not graced the London stage since 2001, when she starred in Neil Labute's love story The Shape of Things.
