Earth, Wind & Fire founder Maurice White has been hit with a lawsuit for allegedly failing to hand over profits to the group's late music producer.
Relatives of Charles Stepney have accused White of withholding royalties from the celebrated arranger between 1974 and 1976, the year of his death.
And now Stepney's family members have launched a legal battle against the former frontman and executives at Sony Music Holdings, Inc., claiming they're owed thousands of dollars in damages, according to Tmz.com.
White produced a number of hits for Earth, Wind & Fire throughout his career, among them Shining Star, Mighty Might, and Devotion. He died of a heart attack, aged 46.
