Beloved TV veteran Betty White has spoken of her joy after she was named Entertainer Of The Year, beating the cast of hit show Glee to the title.
The Golden Girls star has enjoyed a career resurgence in recent months, appearing alongside Sandra Bullock in The Proposal and landing a guest hosting spot on hit U.S. show Saturday Night Live.
Now the Associated Press has voted White as the standout entertainer who had the most influence on culture in 2010, ahead of the Glee stars, who landed in second place, with director James Cameron, host Conan O'Brien and the iPod tying for third spot.
White branded the honour "ridiculous", adding, "They haven't caught on to me, and I hope they never do... It's been phenomenal, but everybody keeps congratulating me on my resurgence and my big comeback. I haven't been away, guys. I've been working steadily for the last 63 years. It's just been a lovely year, I must admit."
