Whitney Houston - Whitney Houston Tributes At Pre-grammy Gala And At Grammys Awards
Tributes have been pouring in over the death of Whitney Houston, particularly in the wake of GRAMMYS weekend. Last night, Clive Davis continued to host his annual GRAMMYS party, despite the death, where he dedicated the entire night to the legendary star.
Held downstairs in the same hotel where her body was found, Quincy Jones, DR. DrE, MARY J.BLIGE and Jennifer Hudson all attended the event where a sombre Davis read out: 'I am personally devastated by the loss of someone who has meant so much to me. She was full of life, looking forward for tonight. She loved music and she loved this night that celebrated music. Whitney was a beautiful person and she had a talent beyond compare. She graced this stage ... so many times. So simply put: Whitney would have wanted the music to go on.' He dedicated the evening to her and asked for a moment of silence. A photo of the star, hands wide open and looking to the sky, was on the screens.
In other news, JENNIFE HUDSON is expected to pay tribute to Houston at the Grammy Awards tonight. Show producer Ken Ehrlich said that Hudson will be featured in a "musical tribute." Hudson had previously talked about her love for Houston's hit "I Will Always Love You" and said that she would 'create duets with her because I wanted to sing with Whitney Houston.' Ironically, Houston had presented Hudson with her first Grammy.
