Kristen Stewart - Will Kristen Stewart Ever Feel 'Twilight' Style Fame Again?
With news that Kristen Stewart has been dropped from the planned sequel to ' Snow White and the Huntsman ' - Universal Pictures instead choosing to make a spin-off with Chris Hemsworth - it's worth discussing how much her affair with Rupert Sanders could affect her career.
It's very unusual for Hollywood studios to drop stars of franchises between movies, which suggests Universal were worried about the sequel's appeal with Stewart in the lead role. As has been widely reported, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart appear to have split, ending perhaps the biggest Hollywood romance of recent times. Universal's decision will give those in-charge of promoting 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2' something to think about. Pattinson and Stewart are scheduled to begin promoting the final movie in the franchise in October, though it's hugely unlikely that the British actor will want to partake in joint-interviews or attend the premieres with Stewart. Pattinson's endearing appearance on the Jon Stewart only proved to enhance his public image, and perhaps drag Stewart's down even further. This week, actress Jodie Foster showed compassion for Stewart in a piece for the Daily Beast, saying, "Just to set the record straight, a salary for a given on-screen performance does not include the right to invade anyone's privacy, to destroy someone's sense of self". Though Stewart certainly doesn't deserve the barrage of criticism she's receiving from those she's never met, there's no doubting her Hollywood stock has decreased. Much of her fan-base came from her relationship with Rob (female fans of Twilight and Pattinson were likely to shell out to watch Stewart's movies too, like Snow White), however, that following may now have been destroyed.
With her latest movie 'On The Road' receiving mixed reviews at best, it's hard to see where her next 'big' role is going to come from. In fact, with the 'Snow White' sequel now shelved, Stewart has nothing in development. Pattinson on the other hand has just been cast as 'Lawrence of Arabia' and we suspect the offers will keep flooding in.
